Usually I speak positively about concept studies or design studies. I usually admire the talent of the artist that dares to create a concept study. Still, not all design studies are a good thing from which automakers have something to learn. This is the perfect example.

Jacob Mcmurry is an independent designer that has created a concept study named 2017 Alfa Romeo Executive Fastback Sedan. Maybe the guy is a visionary, a guy ahead of his time, but we live in the present and in the present I have to say that his creation is just absurd. I know that concept studies should look futuristic but this creation has nothing in common with what a concept study should be. A concept study should be futuristic but it should feature in the same type certain design patterns and lines that can represent the starting point or the inspiration for future models. Honestly, this design study shows it has some Alfa Romeo design patterns in the front of the car, and nowhere else. The back of the car is just hideous and the guys working for Alfa Romeo will never take into consideration the design pattern used for this CGI project.

Returning back to the information and leaving aside my opinion, mister Jacob Mcmurry has said that the 2017 Alfa Romeo Executive Fastback sedan is inspired from the Carnival of Venice and it should be a top of the range model. According to the independent designer, the car would be best fitted with a V8 diesel engine with a rear wheel drive system. The car should represent a long awaited successor for the Alfa Romeo 166 premium sedan.

Anyway, you can check out the design study in the pictures below.
