Previews are getting more and more ingenious. This time, a French company named Norev which is well known for its scale models created a die-cast model of the Renault Twingo CC that has not been launched until now. It is quite possible that Renault themselves to have approved the launch of this toy scale replica of the Renault Twingo CC, in order to get more attention from the public.
The die-cast previewing method is not new, as we got the see the Citroen C4 Picasso previewed by a toy scale replica back in 2006 while last summer we got to get a glimpse of the new generation Mercedes Benz E-Class Estate thanks to a scale model created using the die casting method.
If we are to analyze the previous spy photos of the Renault Twingo CC (that only showed the car in heavy camouflage) with the photos of the toy scale replica shown in the pictures below, we believe that it is extremely possible that the production version of the Renault Twingo CC will turn out to look like the die-cast model.
The Renault Twingo CC should have made its official debut at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show but unfortunately this did not happen. At the moment, it is not certain whether the world debut of the coupe cabriolet will take place at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show in March or at the 2010 Paris Motor Show in the autumn of this year.
The Renault Twingo CC will be obviously based on the popular Renault Twingo hatchback, keeping the front wheel drive system and the small petrol engine range that will include a naturally aspirated 1.6 liter as well as a 1.2 liter turbo unit from the hatchback model. The Renault Twingo CC will have two seats and a rotating central piece rooftop that stows away inside the boot.
