In times of severe economic crisis, it is everyone for themselves. Thus, basically divisions from every country of all the automakers are trying to do whatever they can to get some more sales, to stay in the business. This might come as a surprise for you, as Switzerland is well known for its huge speeding ticket fees but, believe it or not, the Ford division from Switzerland developed a special edition model based on the European market Ford Focus RS that is named Ford Focus RS WRC Edition. As part of the festivities for the 40th anniversary of the Ford RS division, the North American automaker announced this special series last year.

The Ford Focus RS WRC limited edition will be as limited as it gets, as it will be built in only 50 units. The Ford Focus RS WRC has been developed with the help of the fans from Switzerland that took part in a design event organized by the North American automaker. The special edition Ford Focus RS WRC will get its power from a 2.5 liter turbocharged inlive five cylinders engine that has an output of 305 horsepower. Thanks to this engine, the Ford Focus RS WRC will be able to reach a maximum speed of 263 km/h (163 mph) while going from 0 to 100 km/h in under six seconds. It is important to mention that the engine is the one used on the standard Ford Focus RS.

The interior of the Ford Focus RS WRC will feature a special plaque that has the signatures of Mikko Hirvonen and Jarmo Lehtinen, the drivers of the Ford team in the World Rally Championship.

The exterior of the car will get 19 inch OZ Superturismo GT multispoke alloy wheels finished in black as well as a ``Frozen White`` paint finish with contrasting black and green stickers and stripes.

The Ford Focus RS WRC Edition is a tribute to the legendary Ford Escort RS1600 that was launched back in 1970.

Those interested will have to know that the Ford Focus RS WRC will have a price of 55.900 Swiss francs or the equivalent of 37.950 Euro or 53.050 U.S. dollars.
