Rumors claim Ford Focus RS Clubsport coming this year

Some rumors claim that the new generation Ford Focus family will get two new members, one of them this year and the other one most likely in 2013. The model that is rumored to appear this year is the Ford Focus RS Clubsport while the model coming in 2013 will be the all new Ford Focus RS .

The all new Ford Focus RS will be a hybrid model, getting its power from an electric motor with an output of 95 horsepower and an EcoBoost 2.0 liter direct injection four cylinders turbocharged engine that could be developed with Peugeot. Thanks to the combined power of the two engines, the Ford Focus RS should reach a maximum speed of 155 mph or 250 km/h and it should sprint from 0 to 96 km/h (0 to 60 mph) in under five seconds. When equipped with the dual clutch Powershift transmission the fuel economy should reach 40 mpg while having a level of 150 grams of carbon dioxide emissions per kilometer.

The Ford Focus RS Clubsport will get its power from a five cylinders turbocharged 2.5 liter engine capable of developing 350 horsepower, which will be more than enough to take the car from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 96 km/h) in 5.0 seconds. The Ford Focus RS Clubsport will have a significantly lower weight, thanks to new competition seats. Other features include sticky tires, new exterior paint options as well as a stiffer suspension that helps the car to stay lower to the ground. The Ford Focus RS Clubsport is rumored to have a base price of 35.000 British pounds or 40.000 Euro and will be produced in a limited edition of only 500 units.
