Jaguar XJ all-electric created

Some of you think that making a hybrid unit before going directly to the all-electric variant would be a better way to get in the green vehicle department, it looks like Jaguar is speeding things up a bit, launching the XJ all-electric. The car isn't in fact available publicly but the autocar.co.uk guys went quite far announcing Jaguar has created already a project that could be debuted soon.

Somehow uncanny, but the source affirms this is the very 1st Jaguar iteration for special zones worldwide that will perhaps band diesel or gasoline models in favor of zero-emission, all-electric cars.

So, the electric XJ unit will feature an electric model making 195 horsepower (145 kW) plus 295 lb-ft torque, connected to a battery pack of lithium-ion. This electric motor it's backed by a 3-cylinder 1.2-liter engine created by Lotus, this assembly provides 600 miles - total range.

The consumption of fuel would be about 4.1 l/100km (57 mpg), while the emissions drops below the CO2 barrier of 120 g/km. The maximum speed reaches 180 km/h (112 mph).

JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) did not confirmed a project like that, so we are waiting now for an official release denying or confirming this. More info will be provided later, at the next Geneva Motor Show probably where Jaguar will be showcasing a project prototype.
