8th of February 2010 After a huge amount of video teasers in which Audi used its employees to explain a lot of the creation process of the new Audi A1 supermini, it is time for maybe the last set of spy photos. As you well remember, the Audi A1 will be officially launched this week, on Wednesday.
In this new set of spy photos we got to see the contrasting curve roof as well as the LED daytime running lights. Unfortunately, this time the Audi A1 supermini was camouflaged, so we did not get to see the entire car.
Audi has high hopes for the Audi A1. More precisely, the German automaker hopes to sell 80.000 units until the end of this year. It does not seem like much, but take into consideration that the Audi A1 will hit the market only in this summer, so Audi wants to sell 80.000 units of their new supermini in half a year.
The Audi A1 will get a large range of engines, including a 1.6 liter TDI engine with an output of 105 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, a 1.4 liter TFSI petrol engine capable of developing 122 horsepower and 200 Nm of torque and a 1.2 liter TFSI engine with an output of 86 horsepower and 160 Nm of torque. The sportier Audi S1 is expected to be launched in February 2011 and it will most likely come with a seven speed S-Tronic transmission and an engine of unknown capacity that will have an output of around 180 horsepower.
The interior of the Audi A1 will feature a dashboard that is designed to resemble an ``aircraft wing with the engines (air vents) suspended from it`` as well as ``a wide range of possibilities for individual designs`` like Wasabi Green accents.
