New teaser and details of BMW M1 surface

There is a lot of rumor around the BMW M1. The latest rumor comes from an enthusiast forum, from an anonymous member and usual BMW tipster. The BMW M1 will probably be released as a 2012 model year car.

According to the latest rumors, the BMW M1 will have ``a more muscular appearance``, being heavily modified at the front in comparison to the BMW 1-Series . These modifications should include the Active Aerodynamics system of BMW that will be installed to adjust the air flow when the car is in different situations as well as new headlights, a trapezoid grille between the intakes as well as air intakes in the front of the wheels to keep the temperature of the six piston brakes down.

The same guy says that the BMW M1 will also get 18 inch wheels with five spokes as standard, a carbon fiber roof in order to keep the weight down, quad exhaust tailpipes, open ducts at the rear diffuser, larger wheel arches as well as a wider rear end marked by a ``classic Ducktail``

The anonymous BMW tipster also offered a photo showing the design of the alloy wheels of the new BMW M1.

I guess that by know everyone assumes that the ``anonymous forum poster`` is almost surely a BMW employee trying to keep the interest for the upcoming BMW M1 high. To be honest, I am interested to see how the BMW M1 will turn out to be. The BMW 1-Series is one of the most interesting models, as it is at two extremes: in the hatchback form it looks horrible while in the coupe form it looks quite decent. Hopefully, the BMW M1 will be based on the BMW 1-Series coupe and will get a nice powerful engine, in the good M tradition.
