9th of February 2010 It is winter in Europe (and not only Europe) and all the automakers are doing everything they can to make the best out of this period, doing a lot of sessions of winter tests. Obviously, spy photographers are on the hunt, trying to catch interesting prototypes on camera.
This time, the car that was spied is an unnamed Hyundai prototype. The Hyundai prototype was spotted at the European headquarters of Hyundai located in Germany. The cars spotted here was king of difficult to name, as it has no markings on it that would point out its name. From the form factor, the car in the spy photos below is a crossover. Still, a manufacturer label on the windshield of the prototype reveals that it gets its power from a 1.7 liter VGT diesel engine with an output of 117 horsepower, which is the same engine found on the Hyundai Tucson ( Hyundai ix35 in Europe).
Most probably, the car spied here is a pre-production prototype of the Hyundai HED-5 i-mode concept that was shown at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show. The Hyundai HED-5 i-Mode was also seen at the 2008 Los Angeles Motor Show, when the South Korean automaker announced that the model has been approved for a production version in the next couple of years, with a seating capacity of six for the crossover.
Below you have both the spy photos of the Hyundai crossover prototype and the official photos of the Hyundai HED-5 concept, so you can make a better opinion.
