Nissan Juke to be launched today

Nissan is known for having a bunch of SUV and crossover models. Actually, they have a tradition in this kind of vehicles. The range of Nissan crossovers / SUVs will get bigger as the Japanese automaker has announced that they will be presenting the all new Nissan Juke today.

The Nissan Juke is the production version of the Nissan Qazana concept and it will take its place in the range of models of the Japanese automaker under the Nissan Murano and Nissan Qashqai for the European market.

Carlos Tavares, chairman of Nissan America, has confirmed that the Nissan Juke small crossover will be available on the North American market too, starting September or October this year. He confirmed this at the 2010 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS aka Detroit Motor Show) that took place last month.

Even though Nissan will offer official photos and details today about the Nissan Juke, the world debut will take place next month at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show.

The Nissan Qazana concept had a length of 4060 millimeters, a wheelbase of 2530 millimeters, a width of 1780 millimeters and a height of 1570 millimeters. In comparison, the Nissan Qazana is 277 millimeters shorter than a Ford Focus but 110 millimeters longer than a Ford Fiesta . The Japanese automaker said that the Nissan Qazana concept wants to offer the European buyers an alternative to a traditional small hatchback.
