15th of February 2010 Exactly one year ago, in February 2009, Citroen announced that they will be reviving the DS line of models and that it will include, for the beginning, the DS3, DS4 and DS5. These models are going to be the premium versions of the Citroen C3, Citroen C4 and Citroen C5 and will sit above these models in the range of models of the French automaker.
Now, the French automaker released a number of official images of its new Citroen DS High Rider concept model that is set to make its world debut at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show next month. Actually, the Citroen DS High Rider is meant to preview the production model Citroen DS4.
From what we can see in the photos below, the Citroen DS High Rider concept gets a heightened ride level, a gently sloping roof line and muscular details, being positioned in the segment of three door hatchbacks. It is expected that the production model Citroen DS4 will look like the Citroen DS High Rider, with the exception of the polished 19 inch alloy wheels and the fabric roof.
The Citroen DS4 will make its world debut at the 2010 Paris Motor Show this autumn. The premium hatchback will get a number of drivetrains used in the next generation Citroen C4, but it is also possible to see a full hybrid diesel electric powertrain that could consist of an electric motor located on the rear axle and an HDi engine under the bonnet. Both engines of the hybrid system combine to deliver more power and additional torque to the rear wheel drive system. The Citroen DS4 will be wider and taller but shorter than the current Citroen C4 Coupe, as it will have a height of 1480 millimeters, a width of 1820 millimeters and a length of 4260 millimeters.
