During the 2010 Canadian International Auto Show (did anyone know this event even existed?) Mazda decided to reveal the interior of the North American version of the Mazda 2 through a series of interior photos.
To be honest, the interiors of the European Mazda 2 and the North American Mazda 2 are identical, with the exception of the relocation and redesign of the glove box on the passenger`s side and the new seat trims. Even though the North American version of the Mazda 2 made its debut at the 2009 Los Angels Auto Show, the Japanese automaker did offer any interior images until now.
More details are expected to be announced closer to the launch of the North American Mazda 2, which will take place this summer. The North American version of the Mazda 2 is expected to come in a five door hatchback version, get its power from a 1.5 liter gasoline engine and share the platform with the Ford Fiesta.
For those of you who do not know, the Mazda 2 has been in production since 1996 and initially was a small minivan (station wagon), keeping this shape up until the third generation that was launched in 2007, being a supermini ever since. Currently, the third generation Mazda 2 is available in three versions, including three doors hatchback, five doors hatchback and four doors sedan.
