Humongous photo gallery of Aston Martin Rapide released

After seeing the success of the Mercedes Benz CLS, all the automakers rushed ahead to create a competitor for the segment that seemed to be created by the German automaker. Thus, in just a couple of years, a large number of competitors for the Mercedes Benz CLS appeared, including the Audi A7, the Porsche Panamera and the Aston Martin Rapide. A contender from Lamborghini, named Lamborghini Estoque should have appeared too but the difficult economic conditions determined the Italian automaker to cancel the project.

My personal opinion is that this segment of vehicles, which is a combination between a sedan and a coupe, is represented by cars that are just plain ugly. Out of all the vehicles available in this category, the Aston Martin Rapide is the best, in terms of styling. Sure, all the above mentioned cars are extremely comfortable, but you can make an extremely comfortable car that can look good and not be hideous.

All of us common people will never get the chance to own such a vehicle, so when humongous photo galleries like the one we have here hit the web, it is always a delight to feast our eyes.

For those of you who forgot, the Aston Martin Rapide gets its power from a hand built 6.0 liter V12 engine that has an output of 477 horsepower at 6000 revs per minute and 600 Nm of torque at 5000 revs per minute. The powertrain also consists of a six speed Touchtronic 2 automatic gearbox and a rear wheel drive system. Thanks to the powerful engine, the Aston Martin Rapide manages to reach a maximum speed of 303 km/h or 188 mph while going from 0 to 60 in 5.1 seconds and from 0 to 62 (0 to 100 km/h) in 5.3 seconds.
