M-Klasse 2010 for India debuted

In India this week Mercedes Benz debuted the M-Klasse 2010 model year in 2 special versions for the local market: Luxury Edition and Sports Edition. Indian Express reports the 2 units costs Rs. 60.9 lakhs and Rs. 55 Lakhs ex-showroom.

The SUV, which is the 1st one in class to have the Pre-safe system of Mercedes, has 7 airbags, belt-force limiters, belt tensioners, Neck-Pro crash-responsive head restraints.

The Sports Edition features exhaust chromed rectangular tailpipes, the chrome trim strip on rub strips, roof rails - aluminum aspect and 19-inch light-alloy twin-spoke wheels. On the inside, it has entertainment system on the rear-seat, brushed stainless steel sports pedals having rubber studs plus steering wheel of leather.

Its Luxury Edition presents the same exterior look as its sibling, adding surround sound system from Harman Kardon, multifunction steering wheel (Wood/leather) and 3-zone automatic Thermotronic climate control.

You can find the M-Klasse in India offered as ML 500 4MATIC, ML 350 4MATIC and (petrol) ML 63 AMG 4MATIC plus ML 320 CDI 4MATIC, ML 280 CDI 4MATIC and (diesel) ML 420 CDI 4MATIC, running with a choice of six cylinder engine or 2 V8 engine units.

M-Klasse pairs (as basic) the units to the seven-speed automatic transmission having 7G-TRONIC DIRECT SELECT having gearshift steering-wheel buttons.
