30 years of Quattro celebrated by Audi

Audi is keeping on partying in the last couple of months. After they celebrated the centenary (centennial) last year, this year the German automaker has two new reasons to celebrate. I will start with the one that is not so important.

Thus, this year Audi will celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Wanderer brand, which used to make cars and motorcycles until the start of the Second World War. The Wanderer brand is represented by the four rings on an Audi badge along with Audi itself, Horch and DKW.

The more important event that takes place this year for the German automaker is the 30th anniversary of the legendary Audi Quattro road and rally car, which had huge success in the rally competitions. Audi will be present at the Grand Prix Historique in Monaco between May 1 and 2. The spectators will be able to see an Auto Union Type C from 1936 and an Auto Union Type D with a twin supercharger engine from 1939. Other celebratory events include participation at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July and some classic rallies as well as an exhibition of four Audi Quattro models of outstanding interest at the Techno Classic in Essen that will start on April 7.

You can check out a large photo gallery showing some of the most important Audi Quattro models below.
