19th of February 2010
It is clear that the Geneva Motor Show is the most important auto event of the year, so all the automakers will be bringing everything they got, the most important new models, at the Swiss event that will open its gates in 10 days. Jaguar is no exception, as the British automaker announced that they will be bringing the fastest ever Jaguar XK in history at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. More precisely, they 2011 Jaguar XKR Coupe will make its world debut.
The new 2011 Jaguar XKR Coupe will get two new optional styling and performance packages, named Black and Speed, which allow potential buyers to raise maximum speed and further personalize the Jaguar XKR Coupe. The entire range of 2011 Jaguar XKR models will get a repair kit that replaces the spare tire that becomes standard on all Jaguar XKR Coupe and Convertible models.
The 2011 Jaguar XKR Coupe with the Speed pack will get a large number of special paint finishes, including Spectrum Blue, Kyanite Blue, Lunar Grey, Liquid Silver, Salsa Red, Polaris White and Ultimate Black. The styling improvements also include a Jaguar ``R`` logo that sits inside the 20 inch Kasuga alloy wheels, boot lid finisher, side Power Vents as well as a chrome finish to the window surrounds and the upper and lower mesh grilles.
From a technical point of view, the Speed pack adds a recalibrated electronic Active Differential Control to reduce steering sensitivity at high speeds, larger rear spoiler to provide increased balance and a revised front aerodynamic splitter to improve stability. Thanks to a new ECU (Engine Control Unit) and transmission recalibration, the maximum electronically limited speed goes as high as 280 km/h, in comparison to the 250 km/h of the standard model, making this the fastest ever production Jaguar XK.
The 2011 Jaguar XKR Coupe with the Black pack will get Charcoal leather hides that can be personalized with a range of color stitching and grain at the inside of the car. Other styling improvements include ``XKR`` side body graphic that runs along the door sills, body colored front and rear spoilers and boot lid finisher, further gloss black finishing applied to the window surrounds and front grilles as well as 20 inch gloss black Kalimnos alloy wheels. Potential buyers will get to choose from three exterior colors, including Salsa Red, Polaris White and Ultimate Black.
It is important to mention that the Black pack is available only in conjunction with the Speed Pack. The Speed Pack will have a base price of 3500 British pounds while the Black Pack will have a price of 500 British pounds.
