The Hyundai Elantra has been in production since 1990 and is currently at its fourth generation. It is currently offered as a compact sedan or a compact station wagon, being produced at the factories owned by Hyundai in Ulsan, South Korea and Beijing, China. For the 2010 model year, the Hyundai Elantra received a facelift.
The Hyundai Elantra will also receive an optional in-dash LG Electronics navigation unit on the Hyundai Elantra GLS A/T version along with the Premium package for the top of the line Hyundai Elantra SE A/T model. The navigation system features a 200 watt AM/FM/XM Satellite Radio/CD/MP3 audio system with internal amplifier and 8GB of internal flash memory as well as a 6.5 inch high resolution touch screen, Bluetooth and iPod / USB connectivity. The navigation system has available POIs (Points of Interest) for shopping, entertainment and dining with route guidance provided by audio and 2D map prompts, managing to cover the continental United States.
The 2010 Hyundai Elantra SE A/T Premium + Navigation will have a base price of 19.845 U.S. dollars (over 2000 U.S. dollars more than the Hyundai Elantra SE A/T) while the Hyundai Elantra GLS A/T will have a starting price of 17.995 U.S. dollars (1100 U.S. dollars more than the standard Hyundai Elantra GLS A/T). The touch screen navigation equipped Hyundai Elantra models will hit the North American market this month.
