ECO CUP results presented by Peugeot

The ECO CUP Peugeot is an event created by the French carmaker to see if 4 different Peugeot HDi standard diesel units driven by normal drivers could make economy of fuel to beat or match the official government figures involving the fuel economy. Geneva Auto Show 2010 coincided with this event.

All things are great for the French manufacturer, as a Peugeot 308 HDi 110 five-door unit managed to return 90 mpg almost. The vehicle was driven 1000 km of Swiss and French streets in heavy conditions of winter. The brand new MPV 5008 got impressive results also, as the seven-seater returned 85 mpg fuel economy.

The average consumption of fuel made by the winning drivers:

Peugeot 308 HDi FAP 110 – (48 mpg official) 89.95 mpg
Peugeot 207 HDi 90 – (50 mpg official) 87.10 mpg
Peugeot 5008 HDi FAP 110 – (44 mpg official) 84.77 mpg
Peugeot 3008 HDi FAP 110 – (44 mpg official) 79.10 mpg

Peugeot had an amazing sales rise in UK. The well-known French carmaker got its sales up with 70.8 percent, helped by the scrappage extended scheme.
