BMW prepares Audi R8 competitor inspired by the Vision Efficient Dynamics concept

Today's greatest news: BMW is preparing a new supercar that will replace the current M6 and will compete with the very successful Audi R8. And even better, the design will be inspired by the Vision Efficient Dynamics concept.

So, if you want to buy a M6 you better hurry, this might be your last chance, as starting with the next generation 6-Series it will be dropped. Instead the German company will bring a "hi-tech sports car that showcases all of BMWs eco-tech in the packaging of a performance car." The first prototypes will start testing later this summer.

While the Vision Efficient Dynamics concept uses a diesel-electric hybrid system, the production version will be powered by a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine.

While talking about the car, BMW R&D chief Klaus Draeger said the future BMW supercar has to "be intelligent and dramatic-looking, something like the ED concept".
