America ready for Nissan Juke

Yesterday Nissan - the popular Japanese carmaker revealed at the NYIAS (New York International Auto Show) the Juke - its brand new sport crossover unit. Without unveiling the cost (that's expected to be less than 20,000 Dollars) and hinting only to a 2010 fall availability in America, Nissan hopes the Juke model will leave its on mark in US market.

Brian Carolin, Nissan's Sales and Marketing senior, vice president said at the revealing that JUKE is providing an amazing available technology level for its area and an unique character, all original. The company expects a great response from all the people attending the event and is waiting for the fall, when JUKE will go on sale. Adding in convenience, the high seating positioning and versatility of a traditional compact SUV – plus the pricing expected to begin at less than 20,000 Dollars – you have a car unlike others from its class.

Juke will just be available in America with the turbocharged Direct Injection Gasoline 1.6-litre engine which makes 140kW (190PS) plus torque of 240 Nm. It will have both a 4- and 2-wheel drive variant, while Nissan offers 2 transmission options: S-Mode - Xtronic CVT and the six-speed manual transmission (just the SL FWD and SV FWD units).

The crossover options features RearView Monitor and leather-appointed seats, the Push Button Ignition - Nissan Intelligent Key, navigation system having real-time traffic info and moonroof - power sliding, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control) and 6 airbags.
