Some time ago it was speculated that the debut in Europe of Toyota new units, like Auris Hybrid, might just be delayed, giving the carmaker some time addressing its braking and acceleration related issues.

TME (Toyota Motor Europe) has strongly said that suggestions like that are not really founded, the launch will continue like planned. Tadashi Arashima – the CEO and President made a few comments at the recent Auto Show in Geneva, but a spokesman firmly stated these were absolutely theoretical, not concrete, just-auto.com reports.

Brussels TME spokesman affirmed 'I was with Arashima when this comment was mentioned and it was really very hypothetical. The question was, would we consider delaying product launch to guarantee quality and the answer was, if necessary, yes, but it was a very general comment and is not a specific plan. It is just a theoretical possibility'.

Toyota struggled with braking and accelerator failures for some time, so this suggestion of a delay on any kind of units is only a small piece of the media fight the carmaker faces.

The spokesman adds that they don't plan on delay any debut - about Toyota there are regular updates on RAV4 and Auris both in March – so, in July the Auris Hybrid will be in the spotlight - going on as we all expect. [Lexus] CT 200h is the most important model, expected at the Geneva event to enter production this year at the end. The orders will be available in Q3 2010.
