First photos of Citroen AirCross

This is quite weird. The Brazilian division of Citroen has officially made public two photos in which we can see a crossover version of the Citroen C3 Picasso. This is weird because usually the worldwide division of a certain company offers official information about upcoming models. This way, we do not know whether the model shown in the pictures below will hit the market worldwide or whether it will be just a local model, destined for the Brazilian market.

I must remind you that the Citroen C3 Picasso made its world debut at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. Currently, the Citroen C3 Picasso is built in Slovakia. The Citroen C3 Picasso won the What Diesel? MPV of the Year and the Family Car of the Year awards in 2009 offered by the TopGear magazine.

Anyway, the new model will be named Citroen AirCross and rumors claim it will be offered in a two wheel drive version exclusively, along with the same transmission and engines as the standard Citroen C3 Picasso.

The styling modifications seen on the Citroen AirCross based on the Citroen C3 Picasso include larger alloy wheels, faux aluminum trim, roof rails, wheel arch extensions, a new grille at the front, newly designed rear and front bumpers as well as the relocation of the spare tire to the rear hatch.

Other modifications for the Citroen AirCross in comparison to the Citroen C3 Picasso include a jacked up suspension and a body kit around the bottom of the body in order to give the new crossover a more off-road, rugged styling.
