It seems that Porsche will offer a 'baby' Boxster in 2014.
It will feature aluminum hood and doors to keep the weight down below 2700 pounds, measuring 157.5 inches in length and 95.7-inch wheelbase. The car's platform will have struts at all four corners.
The engine will be whether a 2.0-liter flat four turbo rated at 300 HP or a cheaper 2.0-liter inline four cylinder turbo. The engines will be mated to a six speed manual gearbox or, as an option, the dual-clutch seven speed transmission.
Porsche plans to reduce costs by using, on the inside, some of VW components to tackle this project.
The baby Porsche BoxsterBoxster will be priced starting at about $30,000.
