This year is a special one for Alfa Romeo and their fans worldwide. Being founded in 1910, Alfa Romeo is celebrating its centennial this year. After a number of companies created special concepts to celebrate this event (including the famous Pininfarina), now the RIAR (the Italian Alfa Romeo Register) has announced that they will be organizing an international rally for all Alfa Romeo fans and enthusiasts around the world. The international rally will take place on the 26th and 27th of June (Saturday and Sunday) in Milan. The date and place were not randomly chosen, as on 24 June 1910 Alfa Romeo was founded in Milan. The international rally organized by the Italian Alfa Romeo Register is officially supported by Alfa Romeo themselves.
If you are interested in taking part in the two day event, you can register at www.alfisti.com and fill in the form in the Centenary section of the website.
A statue inspired by the legendary Alfa Romeo 1900 Disco Volante, designed by Centro Stile Alfa Romeo with the help of the artist Agostino Bonalumi, will be donated by the RIAR will be presented during a special ceremony on the same weekend.
On the afternoon of June 26, all the enthusiasts present in Milan will parade their cars through the streets of the center of the Italian city. The next day, on June 27, all those present will take part in a record breaking display, as they will form a long line of Alfa Romeo cars. All the cars will have the characteristic ``Biscione`` emblem on the roof.
Alfa Romeo hopes to gather more than 3000 cars for this special event.
