New Subaru Impreza WRX STI sedan spied

As you well remember, the 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI sedan made its world debut at the 2010 New York Auto Show that took place this month. What we have here is a set of spy photos of the 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX STI Spec C sedan spotted at the Nurburgring doing a number of tests.

If you don`t look closely, you might think that the car seen in the pictures below is just your average Subaru Impreza WRX STI sedan (joke intended) but if you look a little closer to the details you will understand that this might be a prototype for a future series version of a Spec C model for the Subaru Impreza WRX STI sedan.

The Subaru Impreza WRX STI Spec C might get a number of improvements over the regular model, including a downsized battery, laminar window glasses, a lightweight aluminum hood, a different limited slip differential, beefier tires, revised steering and suspension systems as well as a recalibrated ECU (Engine Control Unit) and a tweaked engine.

Still, what we can`t be sure of these changes because we do not have any official information nor can we see them in the pictures below. What we do see is the front lip spoiler, the fog lamp covers, the gold colored brake calipers as well as the blacked out alloy wheels.
