According to recent reports from the UK, the Toyota FT-86 price will be considerably higher than previously anticipated.
When the concept was unveiled at last year's Tokyo Motor Show, a Toyota engineer said that the company was aiming for an entry-level price in Japan of around £13,000. Now, Toyota FT-86 price could start at around the 17,000 EUR mark with the top of the range model going over the 19,500 EUR level.
The reason for this higher price is the excess research and development outlays.
The car is also likely to be marketed to older buyers than originally planned, too. The FT-86 age group has been bumped by a full 10 years from the 30s to the 40s.
The Toyota FT-86 will be powered by a naturally aspired, 2,0-liter boxer engine, mated to a rear-wheel-drive system via a 6-speed manual gearbox.
