Mahindra slashes prices of Logan range

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, India's utility vehicles manufacturer has brought down the price of its sedan, Mahindra Logan to boost sagging sales. The decision comes immediately on the aftermath of buying out 49 percent stake from the French carmaker and its joint venture partner Renault SA.

The company had cut the prices by Rs.24,000 to Rs.80,000, both petrol and diesel versions with Euro III and Euro IV compliant norms, in order to offer better value for its customers.

"There was a lot of uncertainty about the future of the Logan in the minds of our dealers and customers," Chief Operating Officer Rajesh Jejurikar said.

The price cuts make the Logan the cheapest car in its segment, about 35,000 rupees better value than Maruti Suzuki's diesel-powered Swift DZire sedan.
