2011 Volkswagen Tiguan gets a facelift

Although VW Tiguan has only been in production for a little over two years, a facelift for the compact SUV is planned. Volkswagen will renew the aesthetic whole range until summer 2011. Other models getting the same corporate styling treatment include the Phaeton flagship sedan and the next-generation Touareg SUV.

The Tiguan now wears the same corporate grille first seen on the latest Golf. The new grille is wider and shorter, the fog light surrounds receive chrome rings, and the lower grille wears new horizontal slats. It also features new bumpers, plus a more pedestrian-friendly reshaped bonnet. The rear of the Tiguan will remain unchanged.

A long-wheelbase version is also slated for the Chinese market, but it will almost definitely be exclusive to the LWB-loving country.
