Modified 1955 Jaguar XK140 MC Royal for sale

What we have here is a 1955 Jaguar XK140 MC Royal that has been listed for sale. This car is a classic itself in original form, but this particular model is truly a one of a kind. That is because its owner decided to modify it after it was imported in the U.S.A. when new (back in 1955) and racing it only six times.

This 1955 Jaguar XK140 MC Royal has under 7000 miles and a win at the Pebble Beach (!!), so it certainly is a special model. The modifications include nerf bar bumpers, recessed front lights, a hand crafted grille, a one piece windscreen as well as a chopped top. All these modifications were done by Joe Wilhelm.

As for the engine, it was rebuilt by a Paxton employee in order to experiment with supercharging applications. The 1955 Jaguar XK140 MC Royal was able to do a quarter mile run in under 15 seconds thanks to its 312 horsepower engine.

Below you have a huge gallery of this custom 1955 Jaguar XK140 MC Royal as well as a photo gallery of the original 1955 Jaguar XK140, in order to better spot the differences.

The color choice is also very interesting. It is one of those things that you either love or hate.

To be clear, the car in dark blue is the custom model while the original is in purple.
