Official specifications and pricing for Skoda Fabia vRS announced

Skoda impressed the car fans about two and a half months ago when they announced sportier versions of their Skoda Fabia model. The sportier version was going to be called Skoda Fabia RS in the vast majority of the markets and Skoda Fabia vRS in Great Britain. Now, the Czech automaker has announced the date when the new models will be available along with pricing and technical details.

Thus, the Skoda Fabia vRS will hit the British market on 29 July 2010 (a Thursday). The Czech automaker decided to offer sportier versions of the Skoda Fabia in both a five door hatchback form and an estate form. Both versions of the Skoda Fabia vRS will come with a seven speed DSG transmission with paddle shifters that will be mated to a 1.4 liter twin turbocharged four cylinders petrol engine capable of developing 180 horsepower.

The estate version of the Skoda Fabia vRS will be able to reach a maximum speed of 227 km/h while the five door hatchback version of the Skoda Fabia vRS will top out at 225 km/h. Both versions have similar acceleration times from 0 to 100 km/h of 7.3 seconds.

At the interior of the Skoda Fabia vRS you will find a three spoke multi function steering wheel with radio controls and paddles for changing gear and Multi Device Interface (MDI) for use with iPods and other mp3 players as well as body hugging sports seats at the front.

Potential buyers will be able to choose an optional black or white roof along with a range of body colors, including the new Rally Green color which was inspired from the rally car Skoda Fabia S2000. Standard features include a vRS body kit, sunset glass, LED daylight running lights, 17 inch Gigaro alloy wheels, XDS (Electronic Differential System), HHC (Hill Hold Control) and ESP (Electronic Stability Program).
