The upcoming Historics at Brooklands event is set to take place next month, more precisely on the 2nd of June. This will be one of the most important auctions that will take place in the United Kingdom. Every day we find out about new models that are going to be auctioned. This time we will be talking about two MG Xpower models.
More precisely, we will be talking about two MG XPower SV models. The first one, the light silver MG XPower SV is a 2003 model with 9000 miles. This certain model was used by MG as a development car and it is expected to raise a sum of somewhere between 18.000 British pounds and 24.000 British pounds. The second model, the dark silver MG XPower SV is a Roush tuned 2004 MG XPower SV -S (one of three) and has 10.000 miles. Organizers hope to raise up to 45.000 British pounds.
Obviously, the difference in price is huge. The reason for the difference in price expectation is that the dark silver MG XPower SV -S is one of only three units built globally, having a Roush supercharged that helps the engine to develop 385 horsepower. Thanks to this the dark silver MG XPower SV-S manages to go from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 96 km/h) in 4.9 seconds and tops out at 175 mph or 280 km/h.
The original MG XPower SV (Sport Veloce) came with a carbon fiber body. The MG XPower SV got its power from a 4.6 liter four valves Cobra V8 engine capable of developing 320 horsepower. The MG XPower SV toped out at 264 km/h and it was designer Peter Stevens, the same man who designed the Jaguar XJR-15 and the McLaren F1.
