Videos of Vauxhall Astra VXR crash at Nurburgring

The Nurburgring Nordschleife is maybe the most important track in the world. It is certainly one of the most difficult tracks in the world, as the Nordschleife part of the track alone has a length of over 20 kilometers while the Nurburgring GP portion of the track (which is used for Formula 1 races, for example) has a length of a little over 5 kilometers.

Obviously, a lot of people want to have the opportunity to take a couple of laps on the Nurburgring, at least once in their life. Some people are just not prepared to handle a difficult circuit like the Nurburgring.

Someone in a white Vauxhall Astra VXR managed to crash his car on the famous Nurburgring. Fortunately for us, the cameras installed at the Nurburgring caught the entire event on camera, so we have two videos (below) in which you can see the event. Unfortunately for the guy, it is not cheap at all to crash at the Nurburgring, as the costs are not ignorable at all.

The cost of an accident at the Nurburgring:

Base fee for attendance of armco truck: 150
Removing damaged armco: 10/metre (x2 or x3 or x4 for multiple-height sections)
Replacement armco: 31/metre (x2 or x3 for double/triple height)
Removing damaged armco posts: 5.10 each
Replacing armco post: 39 each
Safety car attendance: 82 per 30 mins (car + 2 people)
Circuit closure: 1,350 per hour
Recovery truck: 190 (inc VAT)
Hospital stay & air ambulance:
Everything except the recovery truck is then subject to 19% VAT.
