You would never want to see this happen to your car, even more if you have an Aston Martin Rapide sports saloon or a Bentley Continental Supersports.
During a storm that rolled through with hard rain followed by hail, mother nature decided to knock down a tree and make some damages.
The incident happened at the Midwestern Automotive Media Association (Midwestern NAMBLA) annual pump n' dump for morbidly obese auto journalists at Road America. Unfortunately, the tree happened to land on a brand new Aston Martin Rapide sport saloon – base price around $200,000+, and a Bentley Continental Supersports.
The beautiful black Bentley Continental Supersports had a bit more luck than the Rapide, reportedly suffering no actual damage despite mild contact from some smaller branches. Unfortunately, the Rapide faced a smashed windshield, a broken passenger side mirror and a nice dent on the hood.
The Aston Martin Rapide is powered by a 6.0L V12 engine, delivering 470-hp and a peak torque of 443 lb-ft. Mated to a Touchtronic 2 6-speed gearbox with electronic shift-by-wire control system, the, Aston Martin Rapide can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds reaching a top speed of 188 mph.
