Alfa Romeo Giulietta receives five-star from EuroNCAP

It seems that the new Alfa Romeo Giulietta is the safest four-door compact car ever, after the EuroNCAP recent tests. This gorgeous Italian car managed to achieve a five star rating, with an overall score of 87/100.

The EuroNCAP officials have measured the adult safety, child safety, pedestrian safety, the safety equipment to prevent accidents and rear impact safety. The Alfa scored 97% Adult Occupant, 85% Child Occupant, 63% Pedestrian Protection and 86% Safety Assist, which means its five-star rating will also cover 2012 standards.

At the same EuroNCAP session BMW 5 Series has received five stars, while Mazda CX-7 has disappointed, gathering only four stars. The BMW 5 Series is the first model to obtain the maximum rating for the electronic support systems.

The Alfa Romeo Giulietta was designed and built to obtain maximum passive and active safety performance. The car is equipped with the most advanced electronic dynamic control devices including: the Vehicle Dynamic Control system, the MSR system, the DST (Dynamic Steering Torque) system, Electronic Q2 and the brand-new Prefill system. It also features six airbags as standard, three-point seatbelts with double pretensioners and load limit limiters and SAHR (Self Aligning Head Restraints), a new second-generation device built into the backrests of the front seats that moves the head restraints closer to the occupants’ heads in the event of an impact to lessen the effects of whiplash.

Also, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta adopts headlamps with Daytime Running Lights that are automatically switched on when the engine is started.
