McLaren plans a 2+2 version of MP4-12C

The new McLaren MP4-12C hasnít reached market yet, but rumours are popping up suggesting another new member to the UK family. A German Auto Bild report has mentioned the possibility of a McLaren MP4-12C with a 2+2 setup, theoretically allowing room for more than just a driver and passenger, one more seat than the McLaren F1's famous three-seat setup.

They will increase the size of the cabin to accommodate the additional seats, which will fit for small children.

The additional seats would also bump the carbon-fiber-happy MP4-12C's curb weight, which is reportedly under 3100 pounds.

Just to remember, the MP4-12C features a twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8 with 447 kW (600 bhp / 608 PS) and 599 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is connected to a seven-speed "Seamless Shift" dual-clutch transmission - with normal, sport and high performance modes - that enables the supercar to hit a top speed in excess of 300 km/h (186 mph).
