Gordon Murray has released the first official photos of its T.25

The first images and new details about the Gordon Murray T.25 City Car have been released as the 3-seater electric vehicle will make its first public appearance today at an event at Smith School's World Forum on Enterprise and the Environment in Oxford.

The T.25 is a three seater built to solve the problems of inner city mobility. It's 2.3 m long, 1.3 m wide and 1.4 m tall, weighting only 575 Kilograms. The car's diminutive proportions allow three T.25 to be parked in one conventional space, and two can travel side by side in one lane. The car's size also allows it to turn in just 19.7 feet and park perpendicular to the curb.

It has a McLaren F1-style three person seating arrangement, meaning that the driver has a central driving position, with an excellent all-round visibility, while the passengers sit behind on either side, getting a decent amount of legroom.

The vehicle is powered by a 660cc 3-cylinder engine mounted in the back which delivers 51 bhp and 42 lb-ft of torque that are put to the ground via a 5-speed transmission. The Gordon Murray T.25 City Car can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph from a standstill in 16.2 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of 90 mph and returning 74 mpg (UK rating) with CO2 emissions of 86 g/Km.

The Gordon Murray T.25 City Car features a unique door opening system that allows the passengers to enter and exit the car even if it's parked in close proximity to other objects. The car is also fitted with ABS, traction and stability control, one airbag, and a Formula 1 inspired tubular steel and composite floor chassis.

The Gordon Murray T.25 City Car is expected to enter production in 2012.
