MINI Savile Row comes to Japan

MINI releases a special edition model exclusively for the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM).

Coming in as a globally famous district for tailoring in London, the special limited edition 2010 Mini Saville Row will be available in a Midnight Black finish with tinted windows. Featuring a black roof, the Savile Row's look is enhanced by polished chrome 17-inch wheels, a chrome gas filler cap, chrome mirrors, chrome trim inside and outside the car, and many other chromed parts.

The MINI Saville Row will also feature a privacy glass Bi-xenon headlights, white turn signal indicator, and a Saville Row logo.

Inside, the MINI Savile Row is as sharp as tuxedo, with piano-black trim, a chrome instrument bezel and an unusual anthracite headliner.

Under the hood, the special MINI comes equipped with the 1.6-Liter four-cylinder engine that will drive the front-wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission.

The all-black painted model will be built in a limited edition of 100 units with a suggested retail price of 3,100,000 JPY (around $35,000 at the current exchange rates). That's a premium of about 400,000 ($4,519 U.S.) over the standard MINI. MINI also announced the Savile Row as available for the Japanese market only with no sales scheduled in the U.S.

This special edition was named after a shopping street in Mayfair, central London, famous for its traditional men's bespoke tailoring.
