The Top Gear's Season 15 Episode 2, which was seen on BBC2 on Sunday July 4th, shows a review of the Porsche 911 Sport Classic and Boxster Spyder, which are put against each other.
In the video, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May get 5,000 GBP to spend on 4-door saloons that would be able to serve for both every day driving as well as track usage. They then head to Germany to test them. James May is the one who test drives the beautiful Porsche 911 Sport Classic and the Porsche Boxster Spyder.
The Porsche 911 Sport Classic comes equipped with a 3.8-litre engine, capable of producing 408 PS (300 kW; 402 hp), through newly developed resonance intake manifold with 6 vacuum-controlled switching flaps. Production vehicles went on sale in January 2010, with a price starting from 169,300 Euros (before tax).
The Porsche Boxster Spyder, with a starting price of 46,387.00 GBP, is powered by a 3.5-liter boxer engine, which delivers 320 hp and 370 Nm of torque. It reaches a top speed of 166mph (267 km/h) and accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 4.8 seconds. The vehicle comes equipped with the Porsche-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) twin-clutch transmission and the Sports Chrono Package.
With a weight of just 1,275kg, the Porsche Boxster Spyder is the lightest model in the Porsche range.
