Audi launches A7 Sportback teaser site

Audi has recently launched a teaser site for its upcoming A7 model, upgrading the Audi A6 model series. Unfortunately, it doesn't manage to bring any new info for the, except that the car will be based on the 2009 Sportback Concept, which was introduced last year.

The vehicle will come with a set of cool styling features, such as a low roofline, frameless door windows, colossal alloy wheels, large front air intakes, aggressive brakes and quad-outlet exhaust tips. The car will be underpinned by Audi's longitudinal built kit (LBK), which is also the platform used for the new A8. The vehicle will also receive an RS version, which will come with a power output playing in the 500 to 600 hp league.

Engines of the A7 will be the same as you have seen available in the A6, giving buyers a choice for petrol and diesel units, but there are rumors that Audi may expand the range later next year to accommodate a gasoline-electric hybrid model.

A 6-speed manual gearbox and 8-speed automatic will be available in the lower-spec models, while a 7-speed dual-clutch unit is also expected to be offered in the higher-performance variants. A quattro all-wheel drive as standard is expected for North American models.

Production is scheduled to take place in Audi's Neckarsulm plant, where the automaker has already invested millions of dollars.

Audiís new A7 Sportback is expected to make its world debut next month at the 2010 Moscow Auto Show, although initially, the car was scheduled for the Moscow Auto Show this August.
