The Mercedes Benz was caught working and testing on an all-new version of the C-Class Coupe.

Built on the existing C-Class, the C-Class Coupe is a down-sized E-Class Coupe, with a much simpler design than the larger and more expensive E-Class Coupe. The C-Class comes with a redesigned rear end and a front bumper, which is still clad heavily to exploiting the natural surroundings to disguise it. It is almost certain that the nose will get a look similar to that of the new E-Class, possibly with LED daytime running lights below the headlights.

The C-Class Coupe has a new two-door body and it will be bearing the front-end looks with the cosmetic improvement in the C-Class sedan. The new Coupe's proportions are more in line with the rest of the range.

The other cosmetic upgrading includes a wide, mesh-covered lower air intake below a two-bar grille in the new 2011 sedan.

The 2011 models would carryover the 2010 model's 225-horsepower 3.0-liter V-6, 268-horsepower 3.5-liter V-6 and 451-horsepower 5.5-liter twin-turbo V-8 in the AMG model. The coupe may have both six-speed manual transmission and seven-speed automatic transmissions across the new range.

Mercedes-Benz's first attempt at a C-Class Coupe was in 2002 when the company originally offered a much less striking two-door hatchback, but it wasn't well received.

The new C-Class Coupe would debut as a 2011 model sometime next year, along with the facelifted versions of C-Class sedan and Estate.
