Perana Z-One confirmed for U.S.

The Zagato Perana Z-One debuted in Geneva in March of 2009, a custom-built, limited-production, which uses an American Corvette-sourced engine and will be built by Hi-Tech in South Africa.

The vehicle will now be available for the US market and will make its debut in August at the Concorso Italiano, an event which will be held at Laguna Seca Gold Ranch in Monterey California. It seems that there were strong demands from American buyers to allocate 99 units per year to sales in the Colonies.

A company by the name of Superformance will be the official distributor of the Perana Z-One in the U.S. It's a limited edition because the body of each Perana Z-One is handbuilt in Italy by Zagato and then shipped in pieces to South Africa where there are attached to the vehicle's chassis.

Customers will have to choose between two V-8 engine options: a 436 horsepower LS3 or a 505 horsepower LZ7, the latter being the same engine found in the potent Corvette Z06. The engines will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission and ZF limited slip differential will be fitted as standard. Customers will also be able to pick from several different brake options and interior trims.

The cabin is finished in leather and Alcantara, equipped with a navigation-equipped infotainment system as standard.

The car weights 2634 lbs / 1195 kg, which should be enough to propel the car from 0 to 60 mph in about 4 seconds.

The Zagato Perana Z-One will come to the U.S. with a price that will start under $100,000.
