Ford donates 43 Fiestas to O`Neil Rally School

Last year, 100 European-spec Ford Fiestas arrived in North America for the Fiesta Movement, but only 43 of them will be used at the Ford Racing Fiesta Rally Experience, after Ford Racing teamed up with the O'Neil Rally School, in New Hampshire, in order to create the Fiesta Rally School.

The Ford Racing Fiesta Rally Experience is the only rally experience offered by a manufacturer in North America and will provide aspiring rally drivers with the opportunity to learn how to drive on a rally course in a Fiesta.

Before the cars report for duty, they must all undergo some changes to make them viable rally vehicles. The O’Neil Rally School will outfit each Fiesta with a roll bar, rally suspension, underbody protection and off-road tires so that aspiring rally drivers can safely learn the Scandinavian flick and other sideways rally driving techniques.

Prospective students will be able to choose either one- or two-day courses with the Fiestas. The students will learn the left-foot braking technique used by the pro drivers, and the braking, steering and throttle techniques that allow drivers to slide through corners under control. The beginners will have the chance to ride at "maximum attack" on real rally roads, while more advanced students get an opportunity to drive in rally conditions.

Single-day classes involve a short classroom session, with the bulk of the day devoted to practicing car control, and will cost you $495.
