Infiniti JX Info

The Japanese brand has registred the trademark of the next possible JX series: JX20, JX25, JX25H and JX30 in United States and Canada.JX could be the weapon that the luxury division of Nissan will fight against BMW X1 and Audi Q3.

It seems that the numbers represent the engine cylinder capacity, and the letter H will define a hybrid version of the series. If so, the Infiniti JX20 may have a 2.0 liter cylinder engine, JX25 a 2.5 liter v6 engine, JX30 a 3.0 liter engine and the hybrid version, Jx25h, will probabbly get a 2.5 liter petrol engine coupled with an electric motor.

The partnership between Nissan and Mercedes could indicate that the JX model will be based on the upcoming Mercedes B-Class platform. Another possibility is that the future model could be based on the latest Nissan's car, Nissan Juke.

The fact that Infiniti registered the names for the future series does not mean the company will use it for sure.
Nissan trademarked names as WX35, PX35, DX35 and never used them.Altrough the names were trademarked in USA and Canada there is a chance the car could be for Europe only.

In the end, the biggest question remains what kind of car will be the new JX ( if Infiniti will ever build it ).
The letter 'X' may mean an SUV, like Infiniti EX, FX and QX, it could also be new version of Nissan Juke, and there is a chance it could be a raised coupe, like the new Land Rover Range Rover Evoque.

We will keep our eyes on the JX project, and as soon as more details would be available, we will let you know as soons as.
