The new and passionate Lotus Lotus Exos T125 makes dreaming of having a personal Formula 1 car not quite so impossible. The car was inspired from a F1 race monopost and weighs only 650 kg. The model is part of a new limited edition that will be available only in 25 units with a price tag of $1 million each. The car comes with a 3.5-liter Cosworth V8 engine that delivers up to 650 hp and reaches up to 10,300 rpm. Also it has a push-to-pass button designed to enable increasing the redline by 500 rpm. A F1-style semi-automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters is also offered. With the carbon fiber monocoque and suspension of the same material and ceramic brakes, weight is kept to a minimum, with a ratio of almost 1000 horsepower per tonne. An important selling point of this model is reliability, the company estimates that there will be an up to 4500 km revisions interval. "The reality is though, it is a very easy car to run and maintain," Lotus Motorsports' Stephen Wright stated. This Lotus model comes in some of the classic colors, including green-yellow and yellow. To ensure that the driver gets a complete F1 car experience the new Lotus also offers an information display mounted in the steering wheel. The buyers will get a driver session, where they will receive full assistance from Lotus’s F1 specialists and pilots. Those include training with pros like Mika Hakkinen or Jarno Trulli. Lotus Exos T125 will be manufactured in Norfolk, England. The producer estimates that the first ten units will be delivered in the first part of 2011.
