Dacia Logan becomes Lada R90

The model is still called "Project R90" and is the first car to be built at the Togliatti factory on the B0 platform, one that is built the Romanian model.
Clearly, this model is only a slightly modified version of Dacia Logan MCV, but there are no problems copying a pattern here because Nissan owns 25% stake in AvtoVAZ and decided to introduce this unique pattern on the Russian market under the Lada logo.
Standard version of the Project R90 will be equipped with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine, two airbags and Isofix system for attaching child seats. Optionally, the model can be equipped with ABS, Radio CD with MP3 and side airbags. As the Romanian model, the third row of seats is optional.
Once launched on the Russian market, Lada R90 will have a starting price tag of around 350,000 rubles, meaning 8900 €.
By using the Renault B0 platform is a way to reduce costs for the Russians from AvtoVAZ. They already had a competing model in this segment, which it was called Project C, that should be built at the factory in Togliatti. Unfortunately for them, Project C was not as competitive and modern and Logan, so that the Russians were forced to abandon the project and to manufacture the model based on the French platform.
The Renault-AvtoVAZ partnership aims to make and sell 900,000 units of the Logan-based models each year and a completely new model based on the B0 platform might be produced in the future.
