26th of August 2010 The new 2011 Volkswagen Polo Sedan has just been presented at the 2010 Moscow Motor Show. The car`s design largely corresponds to that of the hatchback. But at a careful attention to details you will notice that the front grille has two chrome blades and the rear bumper design is slightly different, with round headlamps and an air intake with small blades, replacing the honeycomb shape that was used on the hatchback Polo. From the car`s rear we can see that the model is not sophisticated, but seems a bit more modern interpretation of the Bora`s posterior, where were integrated the Polo`s taillights. But overall, this model`s styling is characterized by what many VW customers appreciate and want. For that, next to other equivalent cars such as Renault Symbol or Fiat Linea, this model is a more mature appearance and even more elegant. Pragmatism is quite evident inside, where plastics do not seem to be so thorough finished and textiles don`t look very qualitatively. However, this model had to make this compromise, because it has a starting price of 399,000 rubles or around 10,486 €, while a Dacia Logan 1.6 16V Expression costs 387,000 rubles, or 10,164 €, but the price balance is broken as the facilities are proliferating. A very useful detail to know for those who prefer a sedan is the boot volume of the Polo Sedan: a capacity of 460 liters. The reason why small saloons are popular in Russia is that during the winter months, they allow access to the boot without cold air entering the cabin. The Polo saloon is offered with just one engine: a 104bhp 1.6-litre petrol unit. A five-speed manual transmission is fitted as standard, but a six-speed automatic gearbox is offered as an option. The Polo Sedan, which will be made at VW’s factory in Kaluga, Russia, was developed specifically for the Russian market, with consideration for its specific climate and street conditions.
