On August 26th 2010 Lancia Stratos, owned by the business man Stoscheck, was put to a chassis test at the karting course in Wächtersbach.
As a benchmark vehicle was used a Porsche 911 GT3 RS; Lancia Stratos was driven by Tiago Monteiro, Stoscheck and his son, Maximilian.
Before going under the test from Balocco, Italy, Lancia stratus will be equipped with stiffer coil springs and more direct steering ratio.
There are still uncertainties regarding the new Lancia Stratos, it will either be a one-off for Stoschek or it will go into a limited series production, although some reports mentioned that 25 units will be built. The body of the car is of rigid carbon; its power-to-weight ratio is expected to be of 2.25 kg per horsepower (364 hp per ton). The weight distribution should be of about 50:50.
Stratos has been built over the last two years by Pininfarina, and its design is thanks to Jason Castriota which now is design director at Saab.
