The history of Ford begins in the year 1977 with Jimmy Carter replacing Gerald Ford to become the 39th President of the United States Department of energy.
Throughout its entire history, Ford has managed to gain its status as the best-selling vehicle line in America.
Of courses, numerous changes have occurred since then and concerning the 2011 Ford F-150, despite the appearances, not much has changed.
It is significantly more powerful, due to the new 3.7 liter V6 powerplant, with 302 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque and also receiving a much more design than its previous models.
What proved to be even more surprising was that Ford's 3.7-liter V6 actually managed to put down slightly better acceleration runs than GM's even larger 5.3-liter V8!
Other changes are represented by exhaust manifolds with thicker walls and a new oil cooler to be able to stand up to heat generated by the workload which every truck is expected to have.
The price of this car varies starting with the base 3.7 liter engine and stepping forward to a 5.0 liter V8 one will cost from 6,100 to 10,000 pounds.
Moving up to the EcoBoost from the base 3.7-liter V6 will cost $1,750.
What we can consider to be strange about this car is that the 3.7 liter V6 engine is not available with four full doors in SuperCrew trim along with four-wheel drive. But, whatever engine the buyers may choose, they will enjoy a six-speed automatic transmission, designed by Ford itself and the producers are not ashamed to boast that they are the only manufacturers to make six-speeders standard equipment across its entire range of pickups.
