Volkswagen releases pics of the New Midsize Sedan which will replace the Passat in the USA

New photos of the upcoming American New Midsize Sedan (NMS) were revealed by Volkswagen producers an an effort to stem the outpouring of criticism, which was aiming at the recently-revealed B7 Passat. Fortunately, Americans won`t have to deal with the reskinned Passat, which, according to readres` opinion, it looks a bit boring. As a trade, they will get a production version of the car seen in USA, Teutonic and also built in Tennessee.
Volkswagen officials state that the NMS will fisrts show up at the NAIAS in Detroit in January 2010 with its sales that will begin in the third quarter.
The pics can`t seem to reveal much specific information, but it is obvious that the Passat has a more Ameri-centric look.
New design elements include the higher belt line, squat appearance, narrower daylight opening and Audi-inspired tail lights.
A real styling bonus appears to be is the C-pillar`s BMW-derived Hofmeister kink.
