A power kit, a styling package, unique alloys and a flat-bottomed steering wheel, all these represent the Performance Accessories for the X6 crossover, offered by BMW to its buyers from North America.
The xDrive35i and xDrive50i models, which were built during 2008-2010, are provided with the power kit, which is able to increase the engine responsiveness and output, while the exhaust emissions and the fuel consumption are not influenced at all.
The xDrive35i model thus receives 320 hp from 300 hp with an improved torque of 450 Nm from the initial 407 Nm. The same ting happens with the xDrive50i model, where the engine develops 440 hp from 400 and 651 Nm of torque.
This way, both models become faster, more exactly the six-cylinder xDrive35i gets 6.3 seconds extra, while the eight-cylinder xDrive50i gets 5.0 seconds.
Also, BMW engineers are now offering their customers a performance aero kit which is made of side skirts, redesigned front and rear bumpers, as well as an optional rear fins and a rear deck spoiler, which is placed beneath the windshield.
When it comes to alloys performances, unique 21 inch alloys are offered, while the racing style is kept alive by a flat-bottomed multifunction steering wheel, which is covered in hand-stitched Alcantara. But this steering wheel is not available for the X6 M and X6s which feature a Lane Departure Warning system, while the performance aero kit and the 21 inch alloys are unavailable for the ActiveHybrid X6 and the X6 M.
Sources also announce that the V8 and inline-six V6 models are expected to receive in the future, this winter, a high performance exhaust.
