When the Tokyo Motor Show presented the debut of the Toyota FT-86, it made the audience excited, attracted and curious at the concept of rear-wheel-drive 2+2 $20,000 price tag. Now, that the $25,000 RWD Scion`s launching has just been announced, we get to wonder if we`ll be as excited as we were by the Toyota FT-86.
According to some reports belonging to the Wall Street Journal, it appears that the Toyota engineers confirmed to some dealers from Las Vegas that there would be a production version of the FT-86 as a Scion model, available on the car market. This decision was taken in order to make this brand a more popular one, as it was a bit product-starved of late. So far, rumours speak about its price-$25,000, while he Subaru is said not to be available in Europe.
What we know for sure is that the badge of the FT-86 will be Scion, but we can expect surprises, such as if there will be a Toyota variant.
It is likely to find out more useful and specific information at the New York Auto Show, where the production of FT-86 is due to take place.
